GEMs – Gourmet Escape Money
PURCHASING OF FOOD & WINE AT THE GOURMET VILLAGE
All tasting, food and wine for consumption on-site can be purchased using the official Gourmet Village currency GEMs (Gourmet Escape Money). These can be purchased online, through Ticketek, in bundles of 4 or 8 or they can be purchased on-site from our GEM bank and roaming GEM sellers.
The GEM currency simplifies the transaction process of drink and food sold for onsite consumption. Producers selling amazing gourmet produce for after dinner plates, trying a new recipe at home, adding great wines to your home cellar, dinner parties aperitifs, weekend picnics and gifts for family and friends can be purchased for cash as this purchase is not for on-site consumption and the variation of product pricing is easily handled.
Using GEMs adds to the fun of the festival for visitors and minimises the use of cash handling for exhibitors within the grounds. As Leeuwin Estate Winery has limited wi-fi signal it simplifies the banking process at the festival. We encourage consumers to purchase our Premium Adult Gourmet Village Entry ticket so they arrive ready to taste the amazing wine and produce on site.
All take home purchases of gourmet foods, wine and alcohol can be paid using cash and/or credit card. With so many amazing gourmet exhibitors and wineries in the Gourmet Village you will be purchasing delicious goods to take home for weekend picnics and dinner parties. All these goods for off-site consumption can be purchased with cash or credit card.
Please note:
A bundle of four GEMs is included in a Gourmet Village Premium Adult Ticket – this is inclusive of 4 x GEMs in your Ticketek purchase. These will arrive in the post with your entry tickets or at pick up at the Box Office. This saves the hassle of doing this on arrival and means you can kick start your day at the Gourmet Village as soon as you arrive.
1 x GEM is the equivalent to $7 cash. Our 4 x GEM value is $28 (as per the Premium Entry ticket price).
What will 4 GEMs buy me? 4 x GEMs is the equivalent to two glasses of wine and two taster dishes from our pop-up restaurants.
